After a three-year absence from selling showpigs in Missouri, we were extremely pleased with our representation at the 2007 Missouri State Fair. Highlights included Reserve Overall in the Junior show, and Reserve Cross in the Open Show. Perhaps our proudest achievement was our sweep of the Hampshire barrow drive when littermates were named Champion 4-H & Champion FFA Hampshire barrows.

Even more impressive, these two barrows were the only purebreds mentioned in their respective grand drives and that is a testament to the quality of these barrows. While many thought they could have or perhaps, should have done more, we were pleased with the recognition. Seven class winners in the Junior Show, coupled with several high placings, added to our credibility as premier showpig producers.

We understand the main event of the summer is the Hampshire show at the Indiana State Fair. However, prior commitments did not allow the exhibition of these two Hampshire boars at Indiana. Instead, they stood Champion and Reserve at Missouri and represented the breed and the state extremely well. These boars are a great example of the Hampshire program we are building. We were grateful for the attention these two boars attracted and even more pleased by the interest in the sale. Thanks to both buyers for their purchases.
